Les Douves
Between Tours and Blois, in the heart of the Loire Valley, this restored castle is surrounded by water-filled moats
The Domaine des Douves covers an area of nearly one hectare. It is located in the center of Onzain, close to the Loire Valley châteaux.
Built on the castle platform of the ancient, thousand-year-old castle destroyed by the notorious “Black Band” between 1823 and 1826, it is surrounded by its own water-filled moat and a walled garden. The site is listed in the supplementary inventory of historic monuments.
The central island, accessible by a stone bridge and a wooden footbridge, offers a view of the remains of the old château and its chapel.
You will be welcomed by a couple who love music and art in this unique setting steeped in history.
