Charming 15th and 19th century priory, nestled in the middle of a magnificent botanical garden

The Priory is located on a 3.5-hectare estate overlooking the Cisse Valley and the Blois National Forest. The site was initially occupied by the Romans, then by the Carolingians. In the 11th century, with the permission of King Philip I, the monks of Marmoutier, who came from Tours, built the Priory and its church. These buildings, damaged during the Hundred Years’ War, were rebuilt in the 15th and again in the 19th centuries.

The Priory is surrounded by a botanical garden featuring a collection of over 2,500 different species, including a collection of over 280 peonies, numerous fruit trees, a greenhouse, and a large vegetable garden.

The buildings, fully renovated in 2015 and 2016, offer five traditionally furnished rooms and suites, and a cottage, decorated with family art objects, all with fully equipped bathrooms of great comfort, television, and Wi-Fi access. Two of them and the cottage are air-conditioned.
