Le Couvent des Cordeliers

Alain et Danièle BARBOU

On the banks of the Charente, between Poitiers and Angoulême, in the medieval village of Verteuil, rich in the history of the La Rochefoucauld family whose chateau dominates the city, the former convent, built in 1471, has become a highly attractive place to stay. Restored in keeping with its history with as much care as taste, it provides comfortable rooms, each of which has its own atmosphere. It provides the warm welcome of an authentic staging post.
